This site is a tribute to my platonic soul mate, Beautiful Jay Boogie, aka, Bella Jay Bee. Jay always encouraged me to live my life to the fullest and I believe that we all should be doing just that! Jay and I shared a love of music, good food, and great books. And so, in honor of Jay, I’m launching this platform to connect, share, inspire and invoke moments of joy as we traverse this life journey together. Jay always wanted me to spread my wings and stop playing it safe. So, here goes!!

Losing Jay in 2018, mere days after his 50th birthday, took a part of me that has yet to return. Jay was an incredible person, and I shared with him a desire to connect and explore life’s journey on a deeper level; we were both dreamers from Staten Island, New York. We talked about EVERYTHING and boy did we talk! Multi-hour phone conversations were the norm for us. When we would find time to meet in person, we would break bread, share a cocktail, talk for hours, and laugh...so much laughter.

I met Jay as a little girl, so naturally, he became a big brother figure. Jay and my older sister were best friends (I may have stolen him from her). When he would come over to pick her up to hang out, he would bring me videos to watch or a slice of Brother’s pizza, and was always so sweet! Most importantly, he acknowledged me.

I’m a New Yorker and was raised in Staten Island, New York. Growing up in New York City had a huge impact on my life. NYC gave me the gift of hip hop, enriched my palate (I ♥ ethnic food!), the desire to become an attorney (instead of a cashier [true story]), a love for Caribbean culture, and GRIT. NYC also gave me a zest for life! I love to dance, have fun with family and friends, and attend as many concerts as I can!

I have been a practicing attorney for over 20 years, and I love it. However, I want to express another side of myself and in a way, continue the journey that Jay and I were on as we would discuss love, life, and the pursuit of a really good crab cake with very little filler (IYKYK).
