Blog Post Two: Finish It! It’s time for sum action!
Losing my mom this past January has stopped me in my tracks. My mom was my anchor and without that loving and supportive tether, I have been floating above my life and most of its responsibilities. I will admit, I am fulfilling necessary obligations, but my personal/professional growth goals have been on pause.
As I navigate life without my mom, I am forced to reckon with a dirty little secret that I have been plagued with for most of my adult life – a sense of unfulfillment. In particular, it’s a feeling that I can and should be doing more with the God-given talents and skills I was blessed with. It’s also a belief that I have greatness in me that is dying to come out in ways I have yet to determine. My spirit is in a perpetual feeling of preparing to jump into my rightful place in the world, akin to waiting to enter the double dutch ropes (which I was never good at by the way).
The answer to eradicating these feelings is ACTION.
And so, I am starting a “Finish it Friday” journey with all of you. I will set weekly goals that are directly related to an area of unfulfillment. Will you join me? Let’s be in ACTION together and FINISH IT! When we check in, the first words in your post should be “It’s finished!” or “It’s handled” for my Scandal fans 😊.
